I embarked on a peaceful, personalized private tour to Chiang Rai from Chiang Mai with two friendly older couples. Together, we explored the top sights of Northern Thailand at a leisurely pace, without feeling rushed. This tour is perfect for those who want to enjoy the region at their own speed, with plenty of time to relax and immerse themselves in the local culture and nature.

Why Choose a Private Tour to Chiang Rai?

This tour strikes the perfect balance between culture, history, and relaxation. It is fully tailored to the clients' pace, meaning there is no rush and everything can be discovered at a comfortable pace. I was there to share my experiences in Thailand and provide additional insights, without imposing myself as a travel companion. We collaborated with a certified Thai tour guide, who expertly led us through the region.

Day 1: Arrival in Chiang Rai and Exploring the Night Bazaar

After a comfortable ride, we arrived in Chiang Rai and checked into a charming four-star hotel. The couples wanted to start the evening in a relaxed manner, so we avoided rushing through the city. We spent the evening strolling through the Chiang Rai Night Bazaar, browsing market stalls and savoring local food and art, all at a leisurely pace. This was the perfect way to soak up the city's atmosphere without any pressure.

Day 2: The Golden Triangle, Opium Museum, and Long Neck Karen Hilltribes

The next morning, we set off at a relaxed pace towards the Golden Triangle, where Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar meet at the Mekong River. We took our time enjoying the panoramic views and taking photos without feeling rushed. Afterward, we visited the Opium Museum, where the couples learned more about the history of the opium trade in the region.

In the afternoon, we traveled to the Long Neck Karen and other hill tribes of Northern Thailand, exploring their unique culture and crafts at a peaceful pace. We allowed the couples plenty of time to explore and take their own photos, all according to their preferred rhythm and without any time pressure.

Day 3: Blue Temple, White Temple, and Return to Chiang Mai

On the final day, we first visited the Blue Temple (Wat Rong Suea Ten), famous for its stunning blue architecture and modern Buddhist art. We then proceeded to the iconic White Temple (Wat Rong Khun), one of the most impressive temples in Thailand. We took our time exploring the temples and enjoying the serene atmosphere.

After a relaxed lunch and free time in Chiang Rai, we leisurely made our way back to Chiang Mai, where the couples arrived just in time to unwind and take a refreshing dip in their hotel pool.

What Made This Tour So Relaxed?

  • No Rush: The tour is entirely customized and adapted to the clients' pace, without the pressure of speeding through attractions.
